Theresa Harold is a British-Chinese writer and journalist.

For more than 15 years, Theresa has written for publications in the UK, US, Canada, and Hong Kong including The Daily Telegraph, The Independent, Lonely Planet, Business Insider, South China Morning Post, Stylist, Metro, Hong Kong Tatler, The Week, Prestige Hong Kong, #legend, Luxury Briefing, and Narcity.

Theresa is working on her first novel through a six-month course with Curtis Brown Creative. Her creative non-fiction has been published in the literary journal Untitled: Voices; her poetry in Isele, Overachiever and Mixed magazine; and she has performed her poem ‘Compatible’ on BBC radio. She was longlisted for the CBC Nonfiction Prize in 2024.

In 2023, Theresa guest lectured on ‘Writing Climate Change’ at the University of British Columbia. She’s an alumna of Vashon Artist Residency, and was selected as a mentee for BIPOC Writers Connect 2025: Facilitating Mentorship, Creating Community presented by The Writers’ Union of Canada and the League of Canadian Poets.

Theresa lives in Vancouver, on the stolen land of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Peoples. She’s represented by Kirsty McLachlan at Morgan Green Creatives.
